Projects, projects!

I am feeling super-inspired lately to sew, sew, sew so I thought I'd share a couple of the finished projects...

Valentine's Day Outfit

Pretty Red Outfit and fun little headband

And now for the "before" pictures of Addie's Easter dress and my Easter skirt...(we just got the fabric in the mail today and Addie was truly just as excited to open it as I was!)

I'll be sure to post the final products when they're finished!
After raiding mom's fabric stash at her house the other night, I have plenty of projects in mind and look forward to starting on some fun springy dresses and outfits for my sweetie :) This might just become my "sewing blog" after all...

Our New Addition

Well, we are now officially van owners! After many months of casually looking for the perfect pre-owned van, we found our new love two hours away in Illinois. Chris and I had our eyes on this one for a while before we decided to make the trip over to "see it" (translates to "buy it"). This past Saturday while my mom spent the day with Addie, we traveled to Marion, IL and met the "blue beauty" once and for all. Lovely! Our new mode of transportation is a 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring Edition. It is most definitely the nicest vehicle either of us has ever owned and it's our first one to buy together so I guess that's kinda special :)

It was almost a little sad to say goodbye to the Trailblazer (my big girl car I got after college graduation), but then we soon remembered what we were taking home in its place and the sadness disappeared. I know, I know, many people our age might be thinking "why would you want a van?!" Oh, it is so awesome and has SO much room. This one probably has more storage space than our house, for crying out loud! And supposedly 17 cup holders (I still haven't found every last one). And although Addie doesn't show any signs of being a soccer player, I already feel like the typical "soccer mom" with my new van. Notice I called it my van...I'm the lucky one who gets to drive it on a regular basis... Chris can have it on the weekends!!!

Playing Catch-Up

Just thought I'd give a little update on Miss Addie Ruth and her busy-ness. She has been walking in full force since about a week after her birthday. And what a personality! She is extremely confident in herself, walking around swinging her arms lazily as if she's thinking, "I'm big stuff and I know it!" It's pretty entertaining to say the least. Recently at a friend's baby shower, she decided to be a helper and "approve" the gifts as they were opened...right up in the middle of the action--she's not shy--must be her daddy's daughter :)

Her newest "trick" is making animal sounds while looking at her books. When I ask her what a dog says (her favorite--she's been doing this one for a while now) she does a low muffled "woof." We'll even get an occasional "MOOOOO" when I ask what a cow says. Most of the others are just some sort of bark/quack/monster noise, but she'll get it mastered before we know it.

Speaking of monsters, she also has this new thing where she chomps at things like she's going to eat them, and even does it when she's really eating food. I have a funny feeling she learned this while mommy was out of town for a day a few weeks ago :) It's SO funny.

This chomping also goes along with the pretend eating that started right after I let her eat some snow. She'll carry around an empty container of some kind (she prefers anything from my tupperware cabinet) and grab the "food" and put it in her mouth and chomp over and over and over again. It's probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen her do.

Here are a few more pics of our little MONSTER...

Best BUDS!
